Out of the trauma of 9-11, my soul cried out, "A hero we need a hero, someone to save us!" But no hero marched  out of the heavens to rescue us from that nightmare. And maybe that’s just as well since society’s heroes have routinely simply killed off our so called "enemies". Do we really need more death and destruction? Is violence going to solve anything?

The human race can rescue itself by breaking the sword of violence. By securing our home—planet earth—truly in our hearts, we can bury the victims of war together, gaze at our past and our future, and realize that collectively we are our own true hero.
