The title of this painting, which has autobiographical undertones, refers to the fool in the Tarot card, who lives on blind faith. The woman on the back of the crazed wildcat is intent on writing a letter. She’s so focused that she does not even notice as the pages flutter away in the breeze. In mirror writing, her letter asks several questions about life after death.  This painting was done soon after my father died of Alzheimer's decease. I'm asking him where he is, what he has transformed into.

One of my favorite places to travel to in my head is a mythical swamp forest. In this painting, it’s inhabited by shamans masquerading as trees.
